Camp Summit
Camp Summit holds a special place in my heart as a truly unique organization. As one of the few year-round camps serving both children and adults with cognitive and/or physical disabilities, it breaks down barriers and creates inclusive spaces for all. During my time as Communications & Marketing Manager, I had the privilege of sharing their remarkable story with the world.
Our signature events became cornerstone moments in our fundraising calendar. The annual Boots & Bandanas Gala transformed into an evening where our community came together to celebrate our campers' achievements and raise crucial funds for our programs. Meanwhile, the annual Golf Tournament brought together corporate partners and individual supporters for a day of friendly competition and meaningful impact. For each event, I developed comprehensive communication strategies that went beyond just promotion – we shared camper stories, impact metrics, and behind-the-scenes glimpses that helped our supporters feel deeply connected to our mission.
Beyond the numbers and metrics, what made this work meaningful was seeing how our marketing and development efforts directly translated into more opportunities for campers to experience the magic of Camp Summit. Every successful event, partnership, and campaign meant we could welcome more people into our inclusive community.

Our community rallied behind our mission in extraordinary ways, culminating in a record-breaking fundraising campaign “#SelfiesForSummit” that raised $67,000 in just one day - a 27% increase from the previous year. This success came from connecting authentic stories with our supporters through thoughtfully crafted communications across multiple channels.
North Texas Giving Day was an annual event where DonorBridge matched donated funds by a percentage to Dallas-area non-profits.
Sharing the smiles of the incredible campers showed the true spirit of Camp Summit.
